Farrell, 43, succeeds Howard Levy, who left International for a position with CSX Corporation in Jacksonville, Fla.

"We wish Howard Levy the best in his new position and are thrilled to promote Ann Farrell to this important position," said Steve Keate, president of International's Truck Group. "Ann is a proven leader who has demonstrated an ability to get things done, build strong teams and lead by example."

Most recently, Farrell served as the director of the value-based variation initiative, a successful program designed to drive unnecessary complexity out of new International products while enhancing customer focus to give truck-buyers more of what they value.

"Ann brings to this position an extensive cross-functional background in purchasing, finance, project and platform management which are vital to her new role," Keate added.

In her 22-year career with International, Farrell has also served as director of the next generation vehicle program and process management; director of advanced product analysis; director of medium duty platform; and director of purchasing.

Farrell joined International in 1978 and holds a bachelor's degree in finance from DePaul University.
