Birdies to Help Alabama Students Fly Right

PRATTVILLE, Ala., Sep 24, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Now there's even more motivation for players to hit great shots during the inaugural Navistar LPGA Classic. Each birdie made won't just have an impact on the score, it will also have an impact on local students. The Navistar Foundation announced today that it will donate $15 for every birdie made during the four-day tournament (up to $25,000) to the Huntsville Center for Technology, part of the Huntsville City Schools.

The donation will support vocational programs that focus on students who plan on careers that do not require college degrees, but still require training and education. Some of the courses offered by the Huntsville Center for Technology include automotive technology, computer electronics, precision machining, electrical design and drafting design.

Navistar has strong ties with the state of Alabama and is proud to give back to the community in which it operates. Its Huntsville facility employs nearly 400 employees that manufacture the best-selling diesel engines in North America.

Alabama is home to numerous customers and some of the most successful members of Navistar's International Truck dealer network are based throughout the state.

The inaugural Navistar LPGA Classic will be held September 25 - 30 at the Prattville location on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. With a full field of 144 players, the tournament will be held on the Senator Course at Capitol Hill. More information on the tournament can be found at
